The 2006 Yukon Quest started this year in
Fairbanks, on the Chena River, February 11th. The trail conditions were
so bad due to the lack of snow, a restart was initiated and the finish
line moved to Dawson instead of the usual Whitehorse. The Alaska Air
National Guard had to start a rescue operation for some of the teams.

The Alaska
Railroad is really a great adventure any time of the year and is a "must
do" for all visitors.
The Iditarod Ceremonial Start from
Anchorage. The audio and video are not the greatest.
This is the remedy for the dogs which are
dropped off at various check points.
