This web site will not only look at the history of this railroad but will address the major events that had previously happened or were occurring at that particular time which forged the future of the Tanana Valley. It represents another chapter in the history of railroading in the Tanana Valley. Each of those historical events alone would not have made such an impact, but together were momentous. That action, like all major actions throughout time, made a impact on the local area,  the state and  the world. It continues today as noted in newspapers and television news reports. That event was discovery of a mineral called Gold. The support and infrastructure which started following the first strike, continues today will continue in the future. From one small branch of that support and infrastructure emerged a small railroad by the name of   "Tanana Mines Railroad".   Its' evolution has resulted in this website.       

The local club  "The Friends of the Tanana Valley Railroad, Inc." recommends and promotes membership to the National Railroad Historical Society.
